Be a part of the Burning Mountain Parade on Saturday, July 15. Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes and wagons or other forms of travel, in keeping with the old west spirit. Kids may also bring their well-behaved pets if they choose, dress them up and include them in their march. All pets must be contained or on a leash. No registration necessary, just show up. All kids participating will receive a prize.The parade starts at 10 a.m. Lineup is at the Riverside Middle School parking lot. Participants may arrive as early as 7 a.m. to receive their assigned spots. Parade applications are available online at http://www.newcastlechamber. org, or call 625-0342. There is a $20 fee for large float or business entry, but no fee for nonprofit or small private entries.
