The Glenwood Dance Academy is offering dance instruction in swing, jitterbug, salsa and hip-hop; classes begin in September. Give it a try with a $10 drop-in fee. Call 945-2717 for a schedule.

The Defiance Community Players will be holding auditions for the 2006 Musical Fall Production of Sweet Charity from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Glenwood Springs High School band room, east entrance band door. The production is looking for all types of singers, dancers and characters ages 13 and up. Bring your own sheet music. A pianist will be available.The audition time for dancers only will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Glenwood Springs High School.The production dates will be November 10-12 and 16-18 at Glenwood Springs High School.For questions call the producer, Jacquie Meitler, at 945-2174.Anyone interested in helping with the play is invited to sign up at auditions. Set builders, painters, stage crew, tech crew and musicians wanted.

Summit Canyon Coffeehouse is looking for musicians, storytellers, cowboy poets, dancers and anyone with a knack for the arts to showcase their talents and meet new people. Contact Regina at 945-6994 to be a part of the fun.



Eagle County Democrat Meet-Up will take place on Monday, Sept. 4, at Bagel Bites, City Market Shopping Center, El Jebel at noon.
