The Roaring fork Peace Coalition and Davi Nikent Center for Human Flourishing are cosponsoring An Evening with Ed Tick, Ph.D., author of War and the Soul, to be held from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Blue Acacia Theater in Glenwood Springs. A luncheon with Dr. Tick, health care professionals and others interested in the healing of post traumatic stress disorder will be held at noon Friday, Sept. 15, at the CMC Lappala Center in Carbondale. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is introducing ATV rentals to allow guests to enjoy some of the states most beautiful foliage. The park is located on Transfer Trail, which enables riders to reach the Flat Tops and White River National Forest in a matter of minutes. The park has two ARGO Avenger EFI vehicles available to rent. Each eight-wheel drive amphibious off-road vehicle seats up to six passengers and is enclosed to offer protection in inclement weather. Renters must be at least 25 years of age, sign a liability waiver, and provide a security deposit. Reservations are recommended; call 945-4228, ext. 11, for more information.



Celina and Jac Claudon are opening their home located on the side of Glenwood Canyon in the Cave of the Chimes for a guided tour and home-cooked barbecue dinner from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. This is a fundraiser for Jean Alberico, who is running for Garfield County Clerk and Recorder. Make your reservations by calling Celina at 945-0149 or e-mail ann@jeanalberico.com. There is limited space available. You must be able to walk down and back up about 150 stairs. Adults only.

Mountain View Church will hold a Market for Missions, a giant church-wide garage sale, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 16. All proceeds will go to fund missionaries and mission projects around the world. The community is invited to attend this event with items including home furnishings, office furniture, appliances, baby clothing, adult clothing, toys, sporting goods, electronics, home decorating, snowmobiles, tools and more. Mountain View Church is located next to Buffalo Valley Restaurant at 2195 County Road 154 in Glenwood Springs.



Riverside Student Council will conduct a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Riverside Middle School parking lot. Reserve a space and a table for $5, and 10 percent of your proceeds will benefit the student council as well.
