KDNK will hold its annual record and CD sale at Potato Day at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 7, in Sopris Park. Rare recorded gems, vinyl, CDs from all genres, and electronic equipment will be sold at very reasonable prices. Sopris Park is located at Seventh and Main streets in Carbondale. Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club announces two downvalley registration sessions from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Basalt Middle School or Oct. 12 at the Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale. AVSC staff will be on-hand to answer questions, help with scholarship applications and sign up participants. Aspen Skiing Company staff will also be present to issue passes. Children must be present to get passes. Bi-lingual volunteers will be available and all forms are available in Spanish. Voluntarios bilingues estaran a la mano para ayudar. Colorado Rocky Mountain School senior Sebastian Ramirez in collaboration with the Norm Clasen Fine Art Gallery in Basalt is recruiting young photographers from Glenwood, Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen high schools for the upcoming Roaring Fork Valley Youth Photography Exhibition opening Friday, Oct. 27. Deadline for submissions is Sunday, Oct. 15. All submissions must be at least 8 x 10 inches. They should be framed, or at least matted, no later than Oct. 25. Submissions may be mailed or dropped off at 0505 Lions Ridge Road, Carbondale, CO 81623 or to the Colorado Rocky Mountain School at 1493 County Road 106, Carbondale, CO 81623.
