The Western Colorado Watercolor Society will hold its fall meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1630 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs.Noted watercolorist Kurt Isgreen of Montrose will give a free watercolor demonstration at 10 a.m. Call 945-7033 for more information.

The Glenwood Womens After Five group is accepting handcrafted and bake good donations for its annual silent auction and special meeting, to be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Ramada Inn in Glenwood Springs. Special musical guest Ruth Gould from Rifle will perform and Johnny Williams, an auctioneer and diary farmer from Colorado Springs, will speak about The High Bid.Reservations are due by Mon. Oct.16. The Basalt Chamber of Commerce will host its annual meeting Oct. 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Members Lodge at the Roaring Fork Club. All members are encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to 927-4031.



The Roaring Fork Group of the Sierra Club Rocky Mtn. Chapter will hold a membership meeting on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Glenwood Springs. Tresi Houpt (Incumbent and Candidate for Garfield County Commissioner) and Kathleen Curry (Incumbent and Candidate for State Representative for House District 61) have been invited to come speak about their policies.
