The city of Glenwood Springs will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste collection event from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the recycling center, 11th and School streets. There will be no charge for those living within the city limits of Glenwood Springs. Appointments are required and may be made by calling South Canyon Landfill at 945-5375. Roaring Fork Audubon joins Grand Valley Audubon Society for the annual Owl Prowl Saturday, March 31. Five owl species nest in the Grand Valley and are possible on this trip. Roaring Fork Audubon will leave Glenwood Springs at 11 a.m. March 31 and join GVAS at 1 p.m. Be prepared for cold weather and bring a lunch. May be a late evening return.
