Construction Junction in Carbondale is having a Spring Cleaning sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Advocate Safehouse Project. Woodys Rollin Smoke will be serving barbecue, with a portion of the proceeds also going to Advocate Safehouse. A drawing will be held Saturday for store gift certificates. A benefit dinner and silent auction will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 31 at the Elks Lodge in Rifle to help benefit a local man with medical bills from health problems he contracted after working in the oil and gas fields.Glenn Russ Bear, 38, of Rifle, who worked for a company subcontracted by Williams Production, suffers Parkinsons disease-like symptoms, including loss of feeling in his left leg, tremors, failing eyesight and seizures.An account for Bear has also been set up at Alpine Bank. Donations can be made at any Alpine Bank branch.
