Help for Battered Woman and Aspen Youth Center To improve the lives of girls and women in Pitkin County, The Womens Foundation of Colorado (WFCO) will grant $5,000 to support RESPONSE: Help for Battered Womans Personal Finance Woman, a program designed to provide weekly guest speakers on finance. In addition, The WFCO will grant $2,500 to support the Aspen Youth Centers ninth annual Girls to Women, Women to Girls Conference on The ninth Annual Girls to Women, Women to Girls Conference is a one-day event designed to inspire eighth-grade girls to explore their futures by talking with other professional women. More than 250 eighth-grade girls from public and private schools in Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs will be attending the event.

Youth wanting to perform in the Glenwood Dance Academy and Danse Arts Theatre Co.s production of The Lion King as part of the June performance at the high school must sign up for class by Jan. 27 to be eligible. Call 945-2717 for more information.
