Volunteers are need for this years Hogback Hustle 5K race, to be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, in New Castle. The race proceeds benefit Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers. Volunteers are asked to show up at 7:45 a.m. in front of the City Market. Volunteers will receive a goodie bag, T-shirt and free breakfast.

Valley View Hospital Holistic Harmonys second anniversary fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 15, offers a night of music in the Valley View Hospital lobby. Valley musicians will be playing to benefit the hospitals Holistic Harmony Music Program, developed to meet the emotional, mental, spiritual and aesthetic needs of patients, families and staff. Tickets include a hors doeuvres reception, including carved beef, shrimp, and made-to-order pasta station catered by Valley View Hospital. Tickets can be purchased at Glenwood Music, Valley View Hospital Gift Shop or at the door. For more information, call Lesa at 309-1701 or Dee at 384-6651.
