Who said you cant get a free lunch? Muhammad Ali Hasan, co-founder of Muslims For America, will be hosting the monthly Republican luncheon at noon, Wednesday, July 18, at the Buffalo Valley Inn in Glenwood Springs. Muhammad, a Colorado native, is an award-winning filmmaker and political commentator for Fox News, MSNBC and BBC Radio. He holds an MFA in film directing from Chapman University and a BA from Occidental College with an emphasis in environmental science, teaching and filmmaking.Muhammad will be speaking on the topic of American policies and winning the War On Terror.

The public is encouraged to participate in community planning meetings to identify what each community wants and needs in regards to libraries, and what the libraries can do to meet those needs. Here is your chance to become involved in literacy.The Garfield County Library District has already held these meetings in Silt, Parachute and Glenwood.Meetings will be held Monday, July 16, in Carbondale; Tuesday, July 17, in Rifle; and Wednesday, July 18, in New Castle. All meetings will be held from 4-9 p.m.

The KDNK Board of Directors will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 16, at the offices of Kathy Zentmyer, 677 Sopris Ave. in Carbondale. This meeting is open to the public. For information, contact KDNK general manager Steve Skinner at 963-0139.
