The Glenwood Springs Community Center will be closed Sept. 1-9. The entire facility will be undergoing a thorough cleaning. Locker room, shower, gym and dance room floors will be refinished. The community center will reopen Sept. 10.Previous incorrect information was supplied to the Post Independent about this closing.

Lesly Adams will teach two dance workshops from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 17 and 24 at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. The Aug. 17 workshop will cover intermediate nightclub two-step and west coast swing. The Aug. 24 workshop will cover intermediate salsa and rumba. The courses are open to intermediate to advanced dancers. For details, contact Lesly at 970-778-6593.

The 53rd annual Glenwood Springs Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast will be held from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Ninth and Grand in downtown Glenwood Springs. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, orange juice, coffee and milk. Enjoy breakfast and visit with old friends while supporting Kiwanis projects. The club uses proceeds for community projects and youth scholarships.Contact any Kiwanian or call 945-2345 for advance tickets at a reduced price.
