The Rifle Branch Office of the Garfield County Clerk and Garfield County Treasurer will be closed all day Sept. 13, to allow for installation of carpeting.The Glenwood Springs offices will be open for business as usual.The County Clerk and Treasurer apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Mountain Family Health Centers will be conducting free health screenings in September. They are open to the public and anyone may attend. Free screening includes cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, body mass index, and computerized Framingham Risk Assessment. The screenings will be offered at the following locations: La Perla in Carbondale, 1018 Hwy. 133; 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7 (weather permitting) Glenwood Springs Mall; 12:30-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 Rifle Public Library, 107 E. In addition to 40 booths showing the latest in business products and services available in the Roaring Fork Valley, this years guests at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Associations Nov. 9 Biz-opoly business showcase will be educated at seven free one-hour seminars. Biz-opoly will be held at the Hotel Colorado; the seminars begin at 8 a.m., the Expo portion of the day begins at 1 p.m., and the Budweiser-sponsored Business After Hours mixer begins at 5:30 p.m. Biz-opoly is free and open to the public and includes giveaways, munchies, and food samplings from area restaurants.Trade show booths are sold at reasonable fees on a first come, first served basis and sold out last year. Chamber member pricing will be extended to any Roaring Fork Valley chamber member. The Coal Ridge High School Booster Clubs next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in the school library. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
