Re-Play Toys, a new service organization, benefits those in need and those who would like to clean out cluttered closets.Through Re-Play Toys, Bonnie Kowar, a sales representative for Discovery Toys and local mother of three, collects outgrown but still usable toys and distributes them to Roaring Fork Valley charities that work with children and families. Current participating recipients include The Thrift Shop in Aspen, The Pregnancy Resource Center and Yampah Mountain High School in Glenwood Springs.With just one phone call, shell cart away the toys, deliver them to a needy charity and have the receiving organization give you a receipt for the donation.For more information on participating in this service, call Bonnie Kowar, 927-2344.

The third annual Mountains and Moonlight fundraiser for Roaring Fork Hospice will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, May 12, in the Glenwood Caverns banquet room. The town of Carbondale and Zeta Epsilon Sorority co-sponsor the recognition of a man and woman of the year who have made outstanding contributions to the community. The awards will be presented at the Taste of Carbondale on April 8 at Aspen Glen.Nomination applications for a man and woman to be recognized for outstanding contributions to the community through volunteerism will be available at the Carbondale Town Hall or the Chamber of Commerce office beginning today.
