Sunlight Mountain Resort will conduct the official meeting for all who are interested in working for a season pass as a part of the Mountain Host program from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in the lodge at Sunlight. Mini-interviews as well as the full orientation to the program and the mountain will be held. The Colorado Mountain College Quigley Library will be hosting a book sale from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3. Hundreds of fiction and nonfiction books will be available for a dollar or less. The Quigley Library is located at CMCs Spring Valley center south of Glenwood Springs, 3000 County Road 114. All proceeds from the sale go directly to the Central Asia Institute http://www.ikat.org/. Opening reception for Carbondale Clay Centers annual Benefit Holiday Sale will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2. The show will run through December and features beautiful handmade ceramic gifts for the table, the home, and all special holiday occasions. Carbondale Clay Centers Benefit Cup Auction will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, with bidding closing at 7:30 p.m. This silent auction is open to the public. No registration is necessary. Enjoy an evening of fine food and refreshments, and view and bid on more than 100 fabulous cups, mugs, tumblers and teabowls donated by artists from across the country. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (a division of the Department of Human Services) strives to increase the publics awareness of the contributions and skills of American workers with disabilities this month.

Aspen Elks Lodge #224 will again host its annual Veterans Day Luncheon and Program at noon Friday, Nov. 9, at the lodge in Aspen. Veterans are cordially invited to attend.The 232nd birthday of the United States Marine Corps will be observed at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Aspen Grove Cemetery flag pole.A luncheon will follow at the Hickory House. Marines and friends of the Marine Corps are invited. A traditional Veterans Day Ceremony will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Roaring Fork Valley Veterans Memorial in Aspen, next to the Pitkin County Courthouse on Main Street. Veterans will lay a memorial wreath. The Memorial Flame will be lighted and expressions by those in attendance will be heard. The public is invited.
