The town of New Castle is seeking community members to serve on its Parks/Open Space/Trails Committee, which makes recommendations to town council on developing property owned by the town into community recreation areas, with guidance from the Parks, Open Space, and Trails Master Plan. The committee meets as needed at 7 p.m. the first Monday of the month, at New Castle Town Hall, located at 450 West Main Street.Members of the New Castle community who wish to help plan the development of the towns parks, open spaces, and trails are encouraged to volunteer to serve on this committee. A storyteller from the Grand Valley Spellbinders will be at the Rifle Branch Library this Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 2 p.m. The stories will be designed for elementary school children and their families. The Spellbinders will return to the library the first and third Saturdays of each month. So, come on in, grab a seat, and exercise your imagination!

The Rifters in concert will open this years Jim Calaway Honor Series, presented by Colorado Mountain College. Friday, Nov. 16, they will perform in the New Space Theater at CMCs Roaring Fork Campus Spring Valley Center, in a show that honors the colleges Scholar Campaign donors.
