Rocky Mountain PBS KRMA Channel 6 will broadcast The Last of the Cowboys in the Roaring Fork Valley DVD by Anita Witt at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20.The DVD is available at local bookstores and the UPS Store in El Jebel.

The city of Glenwood Springs and Waste Management are offering Glenwood Springs residents Christmas tree recycling at the parking area south of the Rodeo Arena on Airport Road. Please remove all ornaments, tinsel, tree stands, tree bags and any other metal. After being collected, the trees will be transported to the South Canyon site of Cacaloco and combined with other organic material to be resold as compost.The collection site is open through the end of January. Those missing that date may take trees to the South Canyon site directly. For further information, call 384-6366.

A few spots are left for committed writers at Sandra Dorr’s writing workshop, Narrative Experiments, spring semester startup Jan. 10. Small group meets 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. alternate Thursdays; spring talks on poetry and creative nonfiction, including memoir, autobiography, essays, and reportage.
