Join Operation Vacation, the Hotel Colorado and singles from Glenwood Springs and Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs for the inaugural Love, Operation Vacation Style singles auction and dance party from 6-11 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. Show support for the troops and Operation Vacation at this first-time event, which includes singles and silent auctions, raffles, Flirtini drink specials, games and dancing into the night with a DJ spinning the hits. Guests may bid on activity packages with singles from Ft. Carson (three guys and three gals), as well as dates with local bachelors and bachelorettes. The Hotel Colorado and local sponsors are helping Operation Vacation cover expenses, which feature activity packages such as skiing/snowboarding, snowmobiling, plane rides or visits to the pool or caves, along with complimentary dinners made possible by donations from area restaurants. Admission is free to attend the event; proceeds from the auctions and cash bar directly benefit Operation Vacation, a national program based in Glenwood Springs that provides all expenses-paid vacations for soldiers and their families to Glenwood Springs and Grand County in Colorado, and Dallas and Austin in Texas.
