Community Integration Initiative, La Tribuna and Congregations and Schools Empowered in association with American Immigration Lawyers Association and Ya es Hora Ciudadania are bringing the first free citizenship workshop for lawful permanent residents eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship. The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 1885 Blake Ave., Glenwood Springs. Call (303) 995-9662 to register. Walk-ins will not be accepted. On Monday, April 7, at 7 p.m., Thunder River Theatre Company presents another in its series of free Literary Nights. During this special evening, featuring Rudolfo Anaya, TRTC is participating in The Big Read, a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) initiative designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. From April 4 through May 5, in partnership with the Aspen Writers Foundation (AWF) and the Pitkin County Library, TRTC will take part in this community-based reading campaign that aims to get as many people as possible in a given area reading and talking about the same book at the same time, Anayas Bless Me, Ultima.
