The Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce, along with Alpine Bank and the Downtown Development Association host Project Clean Sweep, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3rd at the Alpine Bank parking lot. The clean-up will be followed by a free barbecue lunch catered by Rib City Grill, and free document shredding will be offered by Gold Star Realty.The Chamber welcomes all volunteers, including business owners, residents and service groups.For more information about Project Clean Sweep, visit the Rifle Chamber’s website at, or call 625-2085 ext. 4.

The Friends of the Glenwood Springs Branch Library will hold its fall Used Book Sale from May 3 -10. Library volunteers estimate there are well over 15,000 used hardback and paperback books for sale, including works of fiction and non-fiction, and both adult and children’s books. Books are sorted by category.The Library is located at 413 Ninth Street and the sale is held in the basement. Book donations are gratefully accepted year round, during the Library’s regular hours of operation. Please call the library at 945-5958 for the book sale times and more information.

The Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts is proud to present the 17th annual production of Dancers Dancing 2008 at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3 at the Roaring Fork High School auditorium in Carbondale. More than 175 dancers, between 3 and 50 years old, will twirl, jump and tap. Special appearances of the elite junior and senior dance companies will be featured. The Redstone Community Association presents Geography of the Crystal River Valley- an Aerial Photographic View by Rob Hunker at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4. He will show digital images from the headwaters of the Crystal in Schofield Park to the confluence at the Roaring Fork in Carbondale. This is the final Winter Series Program and will be held at the Church at Redstone on Redstone Boulevard. For more information contact Rob at 963-8240.

Making New Waves, located at 171 Main St. in New Castle, is hosting an early Mothers Day event from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the salon.
