The Glenwood Springs Kiwanis Club has begun selling tickets for the sixth annual Kiwanis Ball Race at City Market (Glenwood Springs, Rifle and New Castle), Wal-Mart (Rifle), Lowes and Safeway. Tickets will also be available during the Strawberry Days Festival.All proceeds to benefit local community projects. Visit http://www.glenwoodkiwanis.org for more information.

Be entertained at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the Parachute Branch Public Library during the free Fragile Excess Baggage skit. Author Charlotte M. Endorf documented real-life stories of the children who rode the 1854 to 1929 Orphan Trains, and brings to light powerful recollections of orphaned children in a 75-year period who were uprooted from the city and sent by train to farming communities to start new lives.

The Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge yard sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, and will benefit a disabled veteran for the Winter Sports Clinic. The Elks Lodge is located at 51939 Highway 6. Lots of different items will be offered, so please come out and help support a veteran this coming winter.
