Valley View Hospital Auxiliary once again kicks off the Strawberry Days festival with Pie Day beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, June 20, at First United Methodist Church, 824 Cooper in Glenwood Springs. Slices of homemade pie and a drink will be sold until all the pies are gone. Whole pies will also be on sale beginning at 10 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Valley View Hospital Auxiliary. Dr. Vern and Jill Thompson, authors of Im Sick and Tired and Scared To Death: Education Edition, and Im Sick and Tired and Scared to Death: Health Care Edition will be signing copies of their books from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the Glenwood Springs Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2314 Blake Ave.A short vespers program featuring Jill at the keyboard will follow the signing.

Acoustic old-time and Celtic music with The Crowlin Ferlies and friends will be offered from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 22, in Sayre Park during Strawberry Days.For more information, call 945-2425.
