The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting for the CRMS Solar Array from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the facility in Carbondale.Food, drinks, beer, music and educational displays will be part of the festivities. Guest speakers beginning at 3:30 p.m. include Michael Kennedy, CRMS board president; Governor Bill Ritter; Senator Ken Salazar; Jim Crown, Henry Crown and Company; and Mike Kaplan, Aspen Skiing Company president/CEO. Honored attendees include State Senator Gail Schwartz; Rep. Kathleen Curry (invited); and Carbondale Mayor Michael Hassig.For more information, call 963-4873.

Free carseat safety checks will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 27. at the Rifle Wal-Mart, 1000 Airport Road. The event is hosted by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office. For more information, call 945-0453.
