The Cool Communities Committee of the Roaring Fork Sierra Club Group will hold a drawing for the Diamondback Cruiser bike at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Glenwood’s Downtown Market. Tickets to enter the drawing are available by riding your bike to the Tuesday market.For further information, call Bob Millette at 947-9613.

RSVP and Colorado Mountain College will be sponsoring two AARP Driver Safety classes. The first class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, and Wednesday, Oct. 1. The second class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, with a lunch break. Both classes will be at the CMC Blake Center, 1402 Blake Ave., Glenwood Springs. The nominal fee includes the workbook and handouts. The program is a driver refresher course directed towards driver age 50 and over. Most automobile insurance companies in Colorado offer a discount to those completing the course.Call 384-8747 and leave your name, phone number, and which class you would like to take and any questions. You will receive a call back to confirm registration and answer any questions.

English In Action is hosting an orientation training for new volunteers from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the El Jebel Office. Volunteer tutors work one-on-one with adults interested in improving their English language skills. Volunteers need no previous teaching or foreign language experience.
