The public is invited to attend The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Associations 23rd annual Issues and Answers Night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Glenwood Springs City Hall. Candidates for county commissioner, U.S. Congress and Senate, State House and State Senate and State Board of Education have been invited to participate. The event will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 12. Ron Milhorn, news director of Colorado West Broadcasting/KMTS Radio, will moderate.A media panel will question candidates, and questions from the audience will be accepted. The League of Women Voters format will be used. This is the format used in presidential debates, where questions are alternated between candidates and candidates are given an allotted time to answer questions as well as an allotted time for rebuttal. The event is co-sponsored by the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, Cable Channel 12, Colorado West Broadcasting (KMTS) and local State Farm Insurance agents, Jeff Leonard and Dee McCown. Beppe Gambetta, a true master innovator of the acoustic guitar, will play Steve’s Guitars at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8. Safeways Denver Division is offering flu vaccines in all Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and New Mexico stores. Now through Feb. 2009, or while supplies last, flu vaccines will be administered at stores with pharmacies. Most stores will give vaccines on a walk-in basis at in-store pharmacies, while a few will conduct scheduled flu vaccine clinics.
