The city of Glenwood Springs, and its contractor Frontier Paving, will be patching and crack-sealing Midland Avenue and 27th Street from the West Glenwood interchange at I-70 to State Highway 82. Work will start at 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, and end by 4 p.m. each day. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and will be single lane through the work zone for safety. Delays will be short while the traffic lanes are alternated by the flaggers. Contact the city engineering department at 384-6435.

On April 17, the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor G. A. Western started replacing modular bridge expansion joints on westbound I-70 in Glenwood Canyon. The work is taking place on westbound lanes only, between mile markers 121.5 and 119, west of Hanging Lake Tunnel. The project will continue through June 15. Only one westbound lane is closed at any time throughout the projects duration. The lane closure will be in place 24 hours a day, seven days per week, due to the complexity of the work. There is also a 14-foot width restriction on westbound lanes, 24/7, until the work is complete. The speed limit through the work zone is reduced from 50 mph to 40 mph, for worker and traffic safety.
