Chapter AO of P.E.O.s annual Elegant Auction will be held Friday, Dec. 5, at the Hotel Colorado. Preview of items begins at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:45, followed by the auction.The event features champagne and door prizes.Purchase tickets at Passion for Picnics. Join the Frontier Historical Society for the holidays at its museum open house from 4- 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10th and Colorado in Glenwood Springs. Warm yourself with appetizers, desserts, hot cider and wine while you tour the museum and shop for holiday treasures in the gift shop. The museum has been decorated for the holidays by local businesses, civic groups and volunteers. Participating businesses include The Farmhouse and The Flower Mart and you can’t miss the tree decorated by the Quilters of the Rockies. The open house is free and everyone is invited. A parade of trees is planned to benefit the Silt Historical Park the evening of Dec. 5. Local businesses will donate decorated trees to then be auctioned silently at the end of the night. The park, with all its historical buildings, will be decorated for this winter celebration.The Anvil Points Quilt Guild will sell pastries and beverages.To donate a tree, contact Abbie Peterson at 309-8120. This is a Senior Seminar project.

The BE HEARD! Youth TV crew will be covering the State Championship Football game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Legacy Field in Aurora. It will be broadcast live to the web at http://www.beheardtv.com.
