The Ferdinand Hayden Chapter of Trout Unlimited will host its annual meeting starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The program is titled Brazil on the Fly, a slide show by Tucker Ladd, owner of Trouts Fly Fishing in Denver.

Kick off 2009 Basalt Business After Hours with Aspen Valley Hospital, Dr. Bruce Bowen and Locke Family Medicine. All three will host the January BAH party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Willits office, located at 1450 E. Valley Road, Suite 101. Business After Hours is held the third Thursday of each month and is free for chamber members and prospective members.RSVP by calling 927-4031 or e-mailing info@basaltchamber.com.The Basalt Chamber annual meeting is set for 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Roaring Fork Club, 100 Arbaney Ranch Road. It is a members-only event and will include the election of the 2009 board of directors, adoption of a few bylaw changes, celebrate 2008 successes, and discuss the exciting things planned for 2009. Breakfast will be included. Please prepay and RSVP by Friday, Jan. 16.

A special Bedtime Storytime is planned for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Gordon Cooper Branch Library. Kids may wear pajamas and bring a favorite teddy bear for bedtime stories and hot cocoa. For more information, please call the library at 963-2889.
