Mountain Family Health Center will be conducting a free health screening to check cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, BMI and blood sugar levels from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the Carbondale Family Resource Center, located at Bridges Center on the corner of Sopris Avenue and Third Street in Carbondale. Alpine Legal Services presents the Do it Yourself Divorce Class at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Garfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs. Attendees will be provided with the necessary documentation required to complete the divorce process along with the necessary information about how to manage the case start to finish.A small donation is requested for this service, but no one will be denied services for lack of ability to pay.This clinic is supported by grants from Aspen Valley Community Foundation. Alpine Legal Services presents the next Thursday Night Bar at 5 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Garfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs. Attendees will be received in order of appearance. Volunteer attorneys will provide their time for a 15-minute private consultation about such matters as divorce, custody, renters rights, etc. Please bring all necessary documentation related to the case, such as leases, contracts, court papers, etc. Thursday Night Bar is sponsored by the 9th Judicial Bar Association and the Aspen Valley Community Foundation, and takes place the third Thursday of every month.
