Four Mile Creek Bed and Breakfast invites you to its third annual Spring Thing, a garden celebration and fundraiser for the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts. Container gardens, plants, yard art, fine crafts, jewelry, birdhouses, potting benches, found object sculptures and fiber work will be available. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Four Mile Creek Bed and Breakfast big red barn, on the road to Sunlight, five miles up Four Mile Road between the Oak Meadows entrances. Kick off the summer with a special Rites of Summer celebration on the historic Hotel Colorados outdoor courtyard patio over Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28. Glenn Symmonds welcomes the warm weather with a blend of reggae, Caribbean soul, and island tunes. A tropical menu features barbecued shrimp, beachcomber ribs, South Seas blue crab cakes and grilled fish sandwiches. Sip on cool drink concoctions like island dreamsicles, pia coladas and mojitos. The groovin begins around 5 p.m. and continues until around 10 p.m.

The Extended Unity Study Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ninth and Pitkin in Glenwood Springs. Following the meeting, there will be a backyard picnic to say adios to Rosemary Zitek for her return to Costa Rica.
