In conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Rifle Department of Human Services will host a free open house from 1-4 p.m. April 6 and 7, with 15 community partners to promote prevention and awareness of child abuse and neglect.A display will note the number of child abuse and neglect referrals received in 2008 (574); along with give aways, information, and activities for the kids. Refreshments and snacks will be served.Car seat checks, identification cards made by Rifle Police Department, Re-2 resource van with books and activities to borrow, sign up for preschool, someone to paint varnishes on kids teeth and pass out new toothbrushes.

The Glenwood Hot Springs Pool and the Athletic Club Wet Lounge will both be closed for routine maintenance Tuesday and Wednesday, April 21 and 22. The rest of the Athletic Club remains open as usual, 6:15 a.m. to 10 p.m.
