The Needle and I Quilt Guild of Carbondale and the Quilters of the Rockies Guild of Glenwood Springs will sponsor the 16th annual Mothers Day Quilt Show at the Glenwood Springs Mall. The event features local quilt artists with more than 70 quilts on display. The show times are noon to 8 p.m., Friday, May 8; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 9; and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 10.
Join Carbondale Environmental Board and Roaring Fork Conservancy for the Crystal River Cleanup at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Sopris Park in Carbondale. Kick off Dandelion Day with a fun community service project to help clean up the Crystal River. Volunteers of all ages welcome. Please dress appropriately; long pants, layers, hat, sunscreen and gloves are recommended. Prizes will be awarded for the Best of Trash, Most Toxic, Most Useful and Most Unusual Trash. The Bureau of Land Management is looking for volunteers for the 10th annual Prince Creek Clean-up May 2 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.Volunteers will meet and sign in at 8:30 a.m. at McIntyres Red Barn at 1625 County Road 111 (Prince Creek Road). Volunteers should come dressed in long pants, sturdy work shoes and leather gloves. Trash bags and soft drinks will be provided. For further information call 963-2888.
