The Two Rivers Park parking lot will be closed to public access on May 19, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a chip seal application. Closure will occur again on May 21 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for sweeping and again on May 22 for an asphalt application. All closures are weather dependent. Access to the boat ramp will be accommodated. The Colorado River District and Roaring Fork Conservancy are holding the annual Roaring Fork Basin State of the River public meeting at 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, at the Eagle County Community Center located at 0020 Eagle County Drive in El Jebel.Presentations will be given regarding anticipated stream flows, reservoir operations, boat inspections, water for endangered fish, and projected long-term water supply and demands of the basin.For more information call 945-8522, ext. 226.
The Lower Valley Trails Group (LoVa) and Garfield County are holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for phase one of the South Canyon Trail. The event will be on Friday, May 15, at noon on the west side of Mitchell Creek in West Glenwood, behind Elk Mountain Motors.The event is free and open to the public.
All teens (grades 7-12) are encouraged to join us Thursday, May 14, at 5 p.m. for a discussion about what you would like to see at the Rifle Branch Library. Local photographer Scott Pope will continue his journey through the wonderful world of digital photography with the new Digital Camera Club. Join the discussions on lighting, focus, color, angles, lenses, software, and all aspects of turning a photo into art. The club will meet at the New Castle Branch Library at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 13. Tweens, ages 9-12 are welcome to join us May 15 from 3:30-5 p.m. for Tween Fridays at the Library. We will have a Wii console hooked up to a projector for the ultimate gaming experience.
