Glenwood Springs businesses offer discounts online

This fall, the Glenwood Chamber Resort Association (GSCRA) is promoting area businesses that offer offering discounts and limited-time offers to visitors and residents.GSCRA members can post an e-coupon at free of charge. Visitors simply click on the “Hot Deals” icon on the homepage and select from dining, lodging, shopping, or activities. Sample offers include “Stay Two Nights-Get the Third Free,” “Free Glass of Wine with Dinner,” free appetizers, or discounts on ski and snowboard equipment rentals. There are also bargains for locals on products like water softeners and services such as shipping. Coupons are printable and will be updated regularly throughout the season. This promotion has been very successful in the past, so GSCRA has increased budget allocations to advertise it in the Front Range. Reports indicate that the “Hot Deals” page is one of the most visited areas of the Web site. A wide-reaching radio campaign on Denver’s 99.5 the Mountain is highlighting the promotion and driving potential visitors to the Web site. A weekly broadcast e-mail with a link to the Web site is also sent out to a database with thousands of people who have requested to receive information about Glenwood Springs as a vacation destination. It is easy for businesses to participate in this program, and they can change or update coupons through their own computers. GSCRA members enter through the member login on Go to “Add A Coupon” under “Members Only Links,” then click “New Coupon” and fill in the pertinent information for the offer. Logos and links to the company Web site can also be added. Users redeem printed copies of the coupons, which creates a good tracking mechanism for owners so they can measure the success of each particular offer. GSCRA is requesting that members go online to check if existing coupons are still valid or need to be updated.
