Kudos for police

Post Independent Opinion

Score one for the home team.Glenwood Springs police did in one night what the big-city cops in Denver couldn’t do in a week: capture a wanted felon suspected of committing serial rapes and terrorizing an entire city along the way. When the sorry, sad saga of Brent J. Brents made its way to Glenwood Springs late Friday night, police were ready and waiting – literally.Hours earlier, Brents had just evaded a massive manhunt in Denver after allegedly committing his fifth sexual assault in a week. What makes the capture even sweeter is that it came without major incident. Brents led Glenwood Springs police on a relatively short eight-minute chase. It never reached deadly speeds or put residents in danger. The incident ended as it should have – Brents with his hands in the air, surrendering to police. The Glenwood Springs police involved in the chase – Bo Harrison, Guy Ryan, Matt Gronbeck, Mike Young and Luke Andre – all deserve a huge thank-you.Here’s to a job well done, fellas.
