Letter: Are commissioners going to take responsibility for their decisions?

Now that the county commissioners and the sheriff have decided not to enforce the provisions of the “red flag” bill, I’m waiting for them to personally commit their own resources to paying for any legal expenses and settlement monies that the county could incur in the future from lawsuits from victims or their families should a tragedy result from their willful inaction. These folks have been elected to represent, protect and lead all the citizens of the county and to enforce the law. I don’t agree with the pick and choose technique so if they are going that route they need to step up and take real responsibility for their decisions.
