Letter: Citizen board a good idea

I’ve recently read the criticism of district attorney candidate Jeff Cheney’s idea of having a citizen advisory board for the district attorney’s office.

I respectfully disagree that such a move is the byproduct of incompetence. Rather, I think it is the mark of true leadership and a genuine understanding of what’s been lost in modern public service: Reflect the will of the people you serve. I think it is a remarkable idea and commend Mr. Cheney’s willingness to humble himself to genuinely seek to involve citizens in the three counties of our judicial district in steering the direction of our district attorney’s office.

This takes bold courage and only comes from one who is clearly seeking to implement government “for, by and of the people.” I encourage everyone to investigate this great idea and others Mr. Cheney has to lead our district attorney’s office by visiting his website: http://www.cheney4da.com.
