Letter: Cruise-A-Thong trash
I recently took a walk through Veltus Park with my family and was disgusted to see the amount of trash that had been left there overnight after the very fun Cruise-A-Thong event. I saw pieces of foam noodles, underwear, shoes, empty beer cans, tissues, red plastic cups, and the list goes on and on.
If this is the consequence of having a special event at the park, then let’s not have special events. Or better yet, let’s enforce the rules clearly stated in the event permit guidelines that the park must be cleaned up and trash that doesn’t fit the in the trash receptacles be hauled out instead of leaving a large pile of bags and beer boxes next to the bin.
The parks are a place for all to enjoy — please respect our parks.
