Letter: DA decision points

In the district attorney’s election, which one will respect the rights of the individual, and isn’t bent on taking rights away? Which one truly believes and understands the Constitution? Which one can understand the very heart of why the United States was founded, that a human being can only be locked up if he is a danger to himself or society and not for financial gain for the courts or elite attorney’s, which made it the new “debtor’s prison.” Which district attorney will be bold enough to put their ego aside and realize the bad psychological effect that continually incarcerating more and more people on nonviolent offenses only adds to the already deteriorating mental health of this country.

Which district attorney has a focus on a positive plan for a more productive society and is not a coward to the law bullies that need to feed their egos about how many people they lock up and not how many people they were able to return to a positive society. You decide.
