Letter: Don’t be a denier

The world must move away from the economy of extraction or face the possibility of the end of the human race. We have to learn to leave our mineral resources in the ground and work harder to develop alternative energy sources.

Actually, we are witnessing the beginning of the end right now. It has started already with severe weather aberrations and Third World refugees seeking food and shelter — from Syria, for example.

Sorry to be so negative, but I am really worried about the future for our six grandkids.

Read some work by James Hansen (and many others) and even if, with all the evidence to the contrary, you have foolishly adopted the position of “denier” you can help by fighting for cleaner air — something we all need now and then — no matter what your position on global warming.
