Letter: Gardner’s vote needed

I understand there is another attempt now in process (avoiding committees) to erase Obamacare and replace it with Trumpcare. Our nation is the only industrialized country who feels health care is a privilege and not a right. We should be ashamed of or backwardness.

Big Medicine, Big Pharma, Big Insurance are all on a crash course of self interest. We need help here: a method to negotiate these costs, or single payer as other nations have perfected years ago.

I urge Sen. Gardner to vote against Trumpcare.

Voters want him to acknowledge the huge losses baked into profitable factors that Big Insurance loves: loss of coverage, inflated rates for pre-existings (living is a pre-existing), and elimination of Medicaid. This is not health care. It is business maximization of profit and satisfaction of shareholders.

Being healthy should be part of the Declaration’s “happiness.” It is a given for a vibrant, stable and inventive citizenry. Sen. Gardner should vote against any bill that decreases the essential health benefits/categories.
