Letter: Godes for council

With the Glenwood City Council elections fast approaching I wanted to strongly recommend Jonathan Godes for Ward 5 city council. Jonathan has, without question, the experience, leadership skills and vision to be an asset to Glenwood Springs.

As the founding executive director of several nonprofit youth serving organizations (including his current position with the Early Childhood Network), he has dedicated his career to helping others. As a member of numerous community volunteer boards and commissions, he has exhibited a personal commitment and willingness to serve and lead in our community. These positions, along with his prior experience working in municipal government, prepare him well for this role.

In addition to having a skilled background that will allow him to support the city, Jonathan brings with him vision. Through conversation I’ve recognized that he has a tremendous ability to identify areas of opportunity. What’s more, Jonathan understands the complexities that challenge each opportunity. His business acumen sets him apart, and allows him to not only pinpoint areas of growth but also formulate a path to success.

At every juncture of his life and career, Jonathan has made the decision to serve others. Glenwood Springs will benefit greatly from not only his skills and abilities but also from his passion to see our city thrive. He has been, and will continue to be, invested in the well-being of our community. I have no doubt that as our city continues to grow, Jonathan Godes will help us strategically and intelligently navigate that growth as he has done throughout his life.
