Letter: Ingraham has exhibited common sense on many issues

I believe it’s most important that Jim Ingraham retains his present seat on Glenwood’s City Council. It’s essential that voters, before marking their mail in ballots, are aware of his concerns that have also been worries of so many of our citizens for such a very long time.

Jim is concerned with the harmful effect of the incredible traffic on Grand Avenue and the hazards all residents and visitors are exposed to. Our main street is one of Colorado’s most heavily trafficked highways. The danger is ever present for so many, from the elderly to children crossing the street. The roar of traffic makes conversation on the sidewalks difficult. Jim also wants to discipline the stream of commercial traffic that spills into our residential neighborhoods.

I’ve been especially disturbed with the decades of disregard for the care and maintenance of our streets that are deplorable. Streets are consistently listed as one of the top three or four of the highest responsibilities of any and all towns. Our streets have been the last concern of too many councils for way to long. Jim is well aware of this dilemma and will deal with it.

While on council, Jim has exhibited an abundance of common sense on so many issues and is especially aware of the need to control unnecessary spending. Please vote for Jim.
