Letter: Join the parades
I attended and had fun at the Carbondale Potato Day parade on Oct. 1. After the parade ended a thought popped into my head: “Carbondale and Garfield County residents participate in Aspen’s annual Independence Day parade. The relationship should be reciprocal in that Aspen and its citizenry should participate in the Carbondale Potato Day parade. For in salesmanship reciprocity makes for better relationships and successes.”
Would the Aspen Fourth of July parade be as large in participants and multitudes if Carbondale and Garfield residents stayed away from it? Something to think about, ain’t that right?
Lastly, at the next Carbondale Potato Day Parade and celebration we must expect the Aspen Skiing Co. and the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority to actively participate in both the parade and its aftermath festivities in the park. Another good neighbor appreciation policy to openly practice by to behemoth economic giants which benefit from their presence in Carbondale and Garfield County.
