Letter: On Amendment 71

I read a good op-ed about Amendment 71 by Vincent Carroll, a former editorial page editor for the Denver Post.

Amendment 71 would make it more difficult to get constitutional amendments on the ballot by having to have signatures from each of the 35 state Senate district, and have a 55 percent majority vote to pass.

The marijuana law we now have would not have passed with this requirement.

This new constitutional amendment would make it more difficult and cost more money for frustrated Colorado voters to get amendments on the ballot.

Corporations or political parties would have the resources to get amendments on the ballot. I have had enough of that.

If you are one of the frustrated Colorado voters, please Google and read the op-ed by Vincent Carroll.

Your vote matters.
