Letter: Peace to all
On behalf of the Bhakti Yoga Mana Fest Celebration we would like to express our gratitude to the citizens of Carbondale, the Roaring Fork Valley and all who participated. We want to express an overwhelming gratitude to the Methodist Community Church of Carbondale and their Pastor Brad Walston.
We had a beautiful event. We completed a 76-hour “reading for peace,” sacred yogic text. This undertaking proved to be and absolutely miraculous experience of community effort. We want to thank everyone who came out and grounded the vibration of peace in the heart of Carbondale. What felt like a monumental task turned into a celebration of diversity, love and teamwork.
This mantra for peace was timed with peace events all over the world and lined up with International Peace Day on Sept. 21 and equinox on Sept. 22.
These readings for peace brought out local musicians singing and chanting their favorite love songs in the evening; including Twirp Anderson singing some John Denver Songs at the opening ceremony on Sunday. This event was surrounded by wonderful people who gave their time and participated in kitchen duty, and the Sevadors who read through the night and into the three mornings nonstop, which made this event a true marathon for peace.
You will see this event as a biannual celebration as a Reading for Peace and the Bhakti Yoga Mana Fest Celebration organized to make freedom free.
Please join us again in the spring, in the light of the equinox sun.
Love to all, Light to all, Peace to all,
Sotantar Kaur and Paramroop S. Khalsa
