Letter: Peaceful protest

I would like to thank all the peaceful protesters that showed up at the Hotel Colorado on Friday, April 21.

There were two messages that were trying to be sent.

First, we do not want to defund Planned Parenthood. Our Garfield County commissioners may want to ask our Public Health Department how important Planned Parenthood is, and where the working poor will get treatment if it is not available anymore.

Second, we want an in-person town hall meeting with Cory Gardner. In a telephone town hall, our representatives do not get to hear our reactions to their answers, to our questions, nor do they see how much we agree and disagree with what they have to say.

So we protest. We love our country, and we hate seeing what is happening to it right now.

So when you see a group of people protesting, or a group of colonists throwing tea over the side of a boat, know they care about what is happening and they want their voices heard.
