Letter: Ride to help children

Abused and neglected children need advocacy. CASA of the Ninth is an organization in our community that does just that. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers are specially trained to advocate for the best interest of children who are involved in our 9th Judicial District legal system due to abuse and neglect.

CASA of the Ninth will have its second annual Sopris Century Ride for the Child event, a supported bike ride featuring 100-mile, 60-mile, 31-mile and, new this year, a 12-mile family/fun course on the scenic country roads of the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley, this Saturday, June 25.

All distances start and finish at Sopris Park in Carbondale, where we will have a post-ride party with food by Hickory House and music. The ride will include fully stocked aid stations as well as support vehicles circulating the course.

Please join us to ride for a reason and Ride for the Child. To learn more and to register please go to our website, http://www.sopriscentury.com.
