Letter: Senior center

I loved Cheryl Brandon’s recent letter (June 16) about the need for a senior center in the old library at Ninth and Blake, where there’s talk of a business incubator going in.

When the Post Independent conducted an online poll on how the old library should be used, the overwhelming first choice was as a senior center. The idea of a business incubator came in dead last. Can’t the business folks utilize some of the empty space at the West Glenwood mall, near the Workforce Solutions job search office?

Can’t we save the handicapped-accessible library, located near the two Manors, for our seniors? I join Cheryl in saying I support the idea and would participate, even if we have to share the building. The location is too perfect for seniors to let it go.
