Letter: Steppin’ into the future with Paula
We have voted for Paula Stepp for Garfield County commissioner because we feel she will give Garfield County the fresh voice and outlook that so many citizens want. Paula cares about people and the issues they face, she has knocked on doors and attended various meeting throughout Garfield County, getting to know the citizens and the issues of all of Garfield County.
We have attended and watched the debates between her and her opponent, Tom Jankovsky, and she clearly came out ahead in our opinion. We think she will approachable as a county commissioner.
We also support Paula because Garfield County needs to care more about women’s rights. Remember in 2015 when Garfield County BOCC decided to not fund Planned Parenthood because it “was political?” Citizens responded to the Go Fund Me campaign that gave them much more money from citizens that apparently wanted the BOCC’s attention. We think Paula will be more in touch of the needs of all women, including our low-income women that need the preventative health services Planned Parenthood provides.
Paula is not anti-oil and gas as Tom said in the Glenwood Springs and Rifle debates. She clearly states that and understands what oil and gas bring to our county. She wants balance between the oil and gas industry and citizens. She also wants to explore and invest in new business opportunities for Garfield County. She is looking out for the families of our county and our future.
Please return your ballot before Nov 6.
