Letter: The old library

In my opinion, this community, the Roaring Fork Valley and the region needs not just frontier history museums but a museum perhaps labeled “Museum of History, Nature and Science.” Local kids, as well as adults, would benefit. To be sure with an aging population seniors need resources; but what of our youth?

Perhaps Glenwood and local governments could work with the “old” Glenwood Mall owners to make use of the old K Mart and theater spaces for use as either a senior center or museum. The benefits of the mall site would of course be parking, perhaps making it more ideal for a museum. I know, the concept of a museum in a mall is a little strange; however it just sits there, empty space…

There are local philanthropists that I think could be brought on board, but it needs to start with the City Council.
